Here's up for sale a beautiful gig-ready '73 EB-3, lovingly modded by TB’er Meyatch. Here's a link to the original For Sale thread: 1973 Gibson EB3 FS
Since owning it I've tuned up the set-up and added new D’Addario Chromes, otherwise it’s unchanged from this discussion. Here’s your chance own a vintage short-scale Gibson bass that looks and plays great without giving up an arm or a leg.
I'm asking for $650 + shipping. Paypal is preferred.

My loss, somebody's gain. | Yes, it started on TB with me. The flEaBay $eller assured me it was a LongScale bass. Sha! But it does seem to be getting better & better. 2 more owners, and I might want it back!

My tweaks are just the icing. Gig-tested and ready to go!

I had a 73 EB3, and then 05' and 07' reissues. GAWD I want this bass!!!!!
Hey Tom, the Wick is gone....but I have a roadworn Jazz coming hint hint.

Hey Tom, the Wick is gone....but I have a roadworn Jazz coming hint hint. | Though I don't know for sure, I think they are the DiMarzio Model 1 "Mudbucker" replacements, if only because they're a perfect fit for the neck position, and required some modification to fit the bridge position. They have a great tone, much clearer and more full-range than the old Gibson Mudbuckers, but still retaining the warmth that I love in a mahogany bass.
Oh... and I do think highly of the Roadworn Jazzes I've seen, but I'm pretty well set for J's. Thank you for the offer, though!

I own a "modern" version, A Gibson SG Bass.
The short scale is a blast to play, And with chromes (flat wounds), the tone is killer.
At this price you get an original at less than half the price of my SG...Remember though, for great tone I think you need Flat wounds on this bass. |

I agree! The dead Ernie Ball SS's that were on it when I got it had a cool boingy sound, but the Chromes instantly were the right choice. Now someone needs to play this one enough for them to break in properly!

If you're ever gigging down this way let me know .
