I am selling my gorgeous Sadowsky NYC Ultra Vintage Jazz bass. It's a 4 string in a beautiful custom shoreline gold with a maple board, black block inlays (a $450 option), Sadowsky single coil pickups, VTC, a white pickguard, Hipshot Detuner, and chrome hardware. It has a chambered body like all NYCs so it's extremely light (under 8lbs) which makes it a joy to play on a strap. I ordered this bass brand new and took delivery in late August of 2010, so it's ONLY approaching 7 months old...I should say 7 months NEW. The bass is absolutely in MINT condition and could pass for new if it were hanging on the wall in the Sadowsky shop in Brooklyn. Asking $4000 O/B/O
Why am I selling this beautiful bass? I have another Sadowsky NYC Jazz bass that I had built for me in a gorgeous aged Olympic White with a brazilian rosewood board, and a tortoise guard. The neck on this bass is just pure perfection in my hands. Any bass made by the Sadowsky shop is gonna be amazing, but this bass has a neck that has a feel like no other I've ever come across. I can never part with it. Plus I recently had it converted to a P/J (originally had the humcancelling JJs in it) by the Sadowsky shop and it's now truly a jack of all trades. It gives me everything from a Fat velvety classic P bass tone to a growling J bass tone and everything in between. So my new shoreline gold jazz has been spending far too much time on the sidelines in it's case and really needs to be someone's #1 bass. It looks incredible, plays incredible and sounds incredible. In my humble opinion, Roger Sadowsky makes the best basses out there. His preamp is simply the best out there! And the vintage tone control (VTC) is an incredible feature to have.
The wait times on a new Sadowsky NYC are now up to 8 months. Here's your chance to get a virtually new one with no wait at a very good price. But I'm not giving it away....it could pass for new.
