This bass was custom made for me a few years back. It is a fantastic instrument, but I haven't been playing much electric these days. When I do, I tend to go for a more traditional tone---so, this bass hasn't been getting as much love lately. I am not in a hurry to sell this instrument as I love the tone and feel....but it really needs to be out there getting played.

There are no issues with it at all. I took really good care of it, and aside from some minor wear from being played, there is nothing to report.

The body is poplar with a hand applied sunburst stain.
The board is morado with side dot markers (every two positions)
The preamp is an East SPM with volume, high, mid, low.
Nice weight.

I am looking to get $2900 plus $30 shipping for this bass.

I'm not really looking for trades, but run them by me anyway.

First two questions people will ask, or at least I will
Scale length?
String spacing?

Thanks! I think so too. I am reluctant to list it, but it should really be played more.

Too bad to see this languishing here. I was very close to connecting with a Skjold fretless 6 a while back. Did you get this before the latest Skjold pre was shipping, or did you swap the Skjold pre for the East?

Anyway, this axe has a super classy look to it. It would be nice if you could post a sound clip or two for the Skjold admirers out here.

Bump for this beauty.

Cheers.

Just an FYI, this bass has the East SPM preamp in it and all of my Preamps are made by John East. The newest Skjold-tone pre is a version of his P-retro preamp. Thanks,

Pete

Kevin, my recording skills are lacking. I never seem to be able to get a true representation of the tone.

Oops. I meant to say 4's, not 5's.

One thing that I want to mention, in the interest of full disclosure. About a month ago, I was getting some static from my rig (sounded like a loose solder joint). I don't know if it was the bass, the cable, etc, but since then, I can't get the bass to recreate that sound. I just want to throw that out there since I try to be as open as possible about the gear I sell. Like I said, it hasn't happened since.
