For Sale: Tobias Growler 4 string USA

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a USA Tobias Growler that was made in the late 90s. It plays and sounds wonderfully. It does have 1 noticeable ding which is purely cosmetic and slight wear above the neck on the E string, wear I played with my thumb. I am the original owner and purchased this as a floor model. When purchasing, it had wear in the body from players putting their thumbnail towards the top of the body (see picture). Easily fixed through refinishing. This has no effect on structure or playability, it is just cosmetic. Still sounds and plays beautifully. Original Bartolini pickup and pre-amp all intact. I've also added a strap lock system to both strap ends.

I'm selling because of a wrist problem that no longer allows me to play. Hoping she ends up in a good home. I've regularly oiled and maintained the bass throughout ownership. The action and neck have just been adjusted professionally.

$500 + $40 for shipping. Comes with original gig bag.

I changed the picture of the ding so you can see it more clearly. It's roughly the size of a quarter. It also shows the bit of wear on the neck where I play.

VOUCH for a great guy and a great bass

Since Jim is new to our community I thought I would hop on and put in the good word.

I've been here a while. He is a completely honorable person and reliable seller.

I have also played the bass. It does have some cosmetic wear but the neck was true when I adjusted it and it intonated well. It sounded great through my rig which was:
Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 into 2 x Schroeder 1x10L cabs.

It played nicely and sounded great. In all honesty, I would buy it for my son if I had the cash. It was too much fun for the price.
