Up for sale is my prized Ken Smith BSR5J.
I love this bass but I just got a Black Tiger Elite, plus I play my R-Basses all the time so this one won't get played as much.
2001 BSR5J with Quilted Maple wings and Flamed Maple core. Maple neck and Pau Ferro board. There's a scratch on the headstock and there's some wear by the pickups (check the pics) but it's in overall great condition, low action and sound like a Smith, but with a Jazz bass flavor. Comes in a gig bag. Asking $1750 plus actual shipping firm. I really don't need to sell it but this bass deserves to be played.
I'm interested in 5 stringers of the same caliber +/- cash depending on what you have. I would love a Roscoe or MTD and I'd be glad to add lots of cash to make it happen.

A ton of basses have come and gone in my stable, but the used Smith I picked up here on TB has stayed put. The sound, playability and build quality are as good as anything at any price. |

Bumpity for a killer axe and good price(how is it still here?)... someone just sold a 98 for over $2,000 on the bay. The neck on this bad boy is thin and very fast. Really... I can't believe no one has jumped at the chance to grab a bass that Ken asks $3,900 for.
