Schecter 004 Black (Re-post)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello All-

I decided to close my previous for sale ad and repost it again because I could no longer edit the ad when I lowered the price and such. So here we go again....

Last year I bought this Schecter 004 bass as a temporary back up of sorts, until I was able to get around to building my own bass. Yes that's right...I build basses. Yet could never keep the ones I made for myself because someone ussually wound up convincing me to sell it to them after I finish making it. So I wind up saying to myself..."Well I need the money and can make my own again soon...."

This time I fell way behind on the other custom orders. So I decided to buy this Schecter as the temporary second bass. I have now come full circle and my very own Buscanti ViBe bass (which I won't sell this time) is finally finished!!!!

Now I don't have pictures of the actual Schecter. Part of the reason relates to the fact that Mrs. Jazz doesn't know that I have the Schecter and she's the one that uploads my photos. So it's a stock photo of the Schecter. (No blackmailing me please..)

SCHECTER 004 (FOR SALE)

The Schecter is a pristine 2008. These are no longer made by Schecter. I guarantee, this one is minty.... The bass as you can tell, has a great look. It resembles a Ric. But tonally speaking it's more like a Fender Jazz.

This is an ash body, 2-band active EQ that can be switched to passive mode. Knobs are for master volume pull/push passive/active, pickup blend control, treble, and bass tones. The custom bridge accommodates either string-through-body or top loading. Other special features include jumbo frets, block inlays, neck binding, brass nut, and a 5-bolt neck attachment.

Schecter 004 Bass Guitar Features:
5-bolt neck attachment
34" scale
Ash body Jet Black painted finish
Maple neck
Maple fingerboard depending on finish
24 Jumbo frets
Block Inlays
Schecter active/passive pickups
Master volume and master blend controls
Active 2-band EQ
Schecter Custom String-Thru-Body (or Top Load) bridge
Creme binding
Schecter tuners
Chrome hardware
Brass nut (That's the kicker!!!)

When I bought it, the dealer knocked off $100 as a 2nd because of a very small finish blem in the finish on the back side of the lower horn. It was insignificant and I was able to easily repair the blem. It took me less than one hours time to do it. You can't even tell it was there.

Now I also bought a brand new Gator Hardshell Tolex case for it. The schecter cases are actually made for a different model. But the gators are a perfect fit.

My price is now LOWERED to $559 shipped to anywhere CONUS. That included the case which is also in great condition. If you live outside the US, I'll give you a $30 shipping credit. Pay Pal preferred.

I'll also restring it with a brand new set of Eden Lights which in my estimation are one of the best bass strings on the market. Those sell for $30 a set. That'll be a free add on as well.

Please feel free to write me with any questions you might have.

Thanks,

Jazz

Are you still unable to post actual pictures of this bass?

Guys I cant take the pics until my wife isn't around. She still doesn't know that I have this bass.

She'll be leaving for her parents this weekend. I'll have plenty of time to take pics and post them up.

Hi jzi.

I have a 2006 Schecter Diamond Elite-4 which I love. Problem is I recently developed a back problem and the Elite is now too heavy for me to stand with for more than 10 minutes. I estimate its weight at 10.5 lbs. I need to get a bass that weighs under 9 lbs. and would prefer a second Schecter.

Any idea how much your 004 weighs?

That's hilarious. The things we bass players do to try and keep peace in a household. lol
