Schecter Studio5 - custom pickups and preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
Schecter Studio5 35" Scale neckthrough 5-string bass.
Mohogany body with thin bubinga top.
Multi-laminate Maple / Walnut Neck with rosewood fingerboard.

Bass has had a complete fret-leveling... plays fantastic.

Custom Kent Armstrong radius'd humbucker pickups wired Series/Parallel push/pull volume knob for each pickup.
Aguilar OBP-3 9v/18v preamp with active/passive switch. (currently wired 9v) Thick meaty almost warwick like tone with a present and clear top end... especially with Stainless roundwound strings. Currently strung with Ernie Ball Coated roundwounds.

Black wilkinson lightweight tuners.
Black single string bridges fanned slightly so string spacing is around 17mm
(Rather than drill additional holes I'm utilizing 1 stock hole from stock bridge for these and fanning the mono string bridges outward to widen the string spacing. I've had no problem with them moving when playing)

Bass has been played and gigged. Body shows some lightening on front and back from general use. No dings, dents or buckle rash or such.

Will include gig-bag and Bayou 25' guitar cable with gold connectors and Cannare cable. Will ship double boxed in the gig bag unless you want to have a different case shipped to me to ship in.

$550 shipped via paypal.

Still hangin' around.

Don't underestimate the build quality of these paired with the custom kent armstrong humbuckers and obp-3 preamp.

I had one of those for a few years. It’s an excellent bass! I fact, it gave my hand-made custom bass a run for the money – see here.

My only beef was with the stock EMG pickups. Getting one like this with hot-rodded electronics for a mere $575 is a bargain!

Good luck with the sale!

Wayne A. Pflughaupt

The black HW makes this look like a whole different bass... and I like it!
The different pickups and pre are also a draw. I did like the tone of these, but I always knew that there was hidden potential for more, seeing as the preamp was bluhhh. Aggie adds a whole lot of class, as well as those Kent Armstrongs.

Bump for a sweet bass.
