Schecter USA Custom Shop Jazz Bass FS - natural finish

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale is my 90's USA Custom Shop Schecter Jazz, featuring an ash body and rosewood fretboard. I've owned both five 80's and more recent USA Schecters over the years, and this is the best I've ever played. The most comfortable neck I've ever played, and the bass has a very thin finish that's almost like oiled, only harder - you can feel the wood grain through the finish. Bass is in great condition with just a bit of wear - mostly buckle rash on the back of the body (doesn't go through finish) and a wear spot by the neck pickup. Neck is perfect and action is low. The fretwork on these Custom Shop basses is amazing - perfect! The bass is 100% stock with Schecter hardware and hot Monstertone Jazz pickups - pull up on the tone knob for coil tap to get a more vintage tone. I've never been a Jazz player (more of a P-Bass/Ric guy), but I've held onto this one for years in hopes that I'd change my mind - I can't bring myself to route such a perfect bass, so I'm finally putting this up for sale. Weighs in just under 9 lbs, comes with a Schecter Custom Shop case in perfect condition.

SOLD!

Compared to what people pay for boutique basses made in Asia, USA Schecters are a total steal on the used market (new they still run $2K up). And ever since Schecter focused its business on the Diamond Series, very few basses come out of their Custom Shop anymore.

New price

Just got back from vacation and have adjusted the price. You will not find a better playing jazz out there. I've owned a Lakland Skyline jazz, a Modulus and others, and this is hands-down the finest. Going to keep it here on TB until the weekend when it goes on EvilBay.
