Selling my basses. Warwick Sterling Squire VM Jazz.

Sign in to disble this ad
I want a Lakland 55-94. THere is one in particular that is haunting my dreams. Unfortunately, I do not have the money to buy it so I am selling off some my basses to offset the purchase.

First up, offering a beautiful Warwick FNA Jazzman 5 string in excellent condition. Honey Violin finish with flame maple top. Purchased new last month and this has since opened the floodgates of G.A.S. for me.

First 5 string I have owned in 10 years and it is a smooth professional instrument. No issues with this bass whatsoever. Well... The wood is a little shiny near wear my thumb rests but that is about it. Has the new Just A Nut3 installed.

Specs can be found at www.warwick.de

Bass on the left…

Sorry about the picture quality. This bass looks much much better than I can depict with my camera. SOLD! Includes gigbag with the Warwick binder stuff. Truss rod tool, owner’s manual, etc.

Next is a Music Man Sterling, 1996 vintage. Beautful birdseye maple neck on this that plays awesome. Nordstrand 4.3 pickup.

The neck and fingerboard were pretty dirty when I got this bass so I cleaned and finished it by the recommendations from EB. Unfortunately, I cracked the nut when I tried to remove it so I had a brass one installed. This bass has a couple dings here and there and may need a fret dressing. The sound of this bass is simply fantastic. I have heard people on here say these basses are more trebly in sound but with the alnico Nordy that isn’t the case. Sound is warm and growly with perfect top end. This was my main bass and I would still play it if I didn’t go to 5 string exclusively. Seriously, I love this guitar and I know deep down I am going to miss it.

SOLD! Payment via Paypal. Includes EB/MM case which is a little rough but protects the goods.

Next is a Squire Vintage Modified Jazz that I bought a year and a half ago to noodle around with modding. I was seriously surprised at the quality and sound when I first took it out of the packaging. Added Grover tuners, brass nut, and Baddass bridge. I shimmed the neck, polyed the fingerboard and headstock, and tung oiled coat after coat onto the back of the neck. The action and playabilty of this bass is simply amazing. I was considering pickup and electronic upgrades but the sound was so good I left it as is.

Sell to USA only for $300 shipped in the Squire case. Sale Pending. I also have a white pearloid pickgaurd I modded slightly to fit that will be thrown into the deal.

I used to buy and sell here a good bit before the feedback system was put in place. You can also check my feedback on Ebay under the screen name vlad-latrobe. Member since 2-97 with 100% feedback rating.

Thanks

Ahh Man. Don't say such things! I'm really on the edge with selling this in the first place.

If it were 5 string it would be here for the rest of my life.

Whew!

All Pm's answered.

As far as trades... Interested in 5 strings only. Wider string spacing. SR5's and Lakland's way way up on the list. Keep the PM's coming!

Crap. Forgot to mention concerning the Squire. You can see where the old tuners mounted on the back if you look up close. Also, there is a hole where I made a mistake drilling on the front of the head stock by the G tuner. ( First hole I drilled) Should have filled it with wood filler before poly. Affects nothing as far as sound and playability goes.

The Grovers are silky smooth and accurate. This bass stays in tune like none I have owned.

Question

Is there a channel rout from the neck pup cavity to the control cavity? In other words could it be played without a pickguard?

Oops... I was wrong. There is no rout and it seems like a different PU could be installed in the neck position as well. Humbucker maybe?

Pic of the pearloid PG stuck on the bass.

Some Sterling pics:

Man you must have serious G.A.S. to be offering that sterling. Wish I had the funds to jump on that one.

All PM's replied.

The Warwick is sold via paypal.

The Sterling is still available but looking at it is giving me second thoughts. (You are correct Tmusic101.) I don't dare plug it in.
