Arrow SF Bay Area - Sonoma CO - 1977 Fender Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass like new

Sign in to disble this ad
Here is my Fender Squier Vintage Modified jazz bass. It's a 2010 model and is like new. It sounds killer, and plays just as well. Super low action, no fret buzz, everything you'd expect from a nice Squier. As TB'ers know, Squiers are where it's at if you're a budget Fender guy. Even if you're not, I know some TB'ers like Squiers better than Fenders for various reasons like price, fret wire, etc...

- 2010 Fender Squier Modified '77 jazz bass
- Pearl block inlays
- Neck binding
- Duncan Design high output pickups
- Heavy Duty Standard Fender bass tuners
- All maple neck and fretboard
- Agathis body (New Zealand hardwood)

I don't really want to ship this bass in order to keep it affordable to you.

$200 $180 local Sonoma / SF Bay Area

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Laurie !! Thanks for the super kind words. How's the PV Fury ?

Yes, this is a killer bass and I have it set up nicely. I actually like it a lot, but I can really use the $200. It happens to be the bass that's out in the living room for me to pick up every 20 minutes when I want to play.

As far as comparing it to a CV (classic vibe Squier), well, I own one of those, too, and I love it. They are just different.

All in all, I think the newer Squiers are hitting it out of the ball park and seem to be just as good as any USA Fender. They may require a little set up time, but if you're buying one second hand, then most likely it's been set up already.

Nice bass! I'm set - got this niche covered with my '61 jazz - but friends often ask me to keep an eye out for nice, affordable, basses. I'll ask around. I'm in Santa Rosa - where are you? If you are close I might want to check it out.

Hey Mike,

I work in Petaluma so that would be an easy check out for me. I'm also near the JC up here. I'll ask around and let you know if I come up with any interest for you.

I can't believe this hasn't sold yet.

I used to have this modded with an Audere preamp and it's back to stock now. I saw another TB'er had the same bass modded to a pre that cost as much as the bass.

Why ? Because these basses are AWESOME. They NAIL the Geddy Lee and Jaco tone.

I feel like keeping it out of principle and if I weren't so broke and GASSY, then I would ...

Again, $180 local Sonoma / SF Bay

In my experience, January - March is a bad time to try to sell basses. This is particularly true in our current economy.

I know it is. I remember even in 2006 when things were GOOD and I worked retail, January - March always sucked. After Xmas, before taxes.

I could understand if it were a $3000 bass ...

But, this ONLY being $180 shouldn't make a difference...

People locally (most likely kids with limited $$, and I totally get it) have been offering $150 and I drive an hour one way to meet them.

I KNOW this bass is worth $200. I am asking $180. If it doesn't sell, then I have a great jazz bass in the house.

This bass does Geddy and Jaco nearly to a tee. Really sweet basses.

This is the last bump. I've already let the craigslist ad expire. Out of principle, I just can't justify giving away this mint condition jazz bass.

In my opinion, these are more versatile, tone wise, than the other vm bass that is all natural with black inlays.
