Beautiful bass, any idea what that "R" stands for, and what's the scale length?

I'm not sure why but I somehow found the answer to the "R" question very humorous!

This may sound like an odd or ridiculous question but how it is to slap on?

I only ask because I was rather stunned this year to hear how good a Fretless Stingray sounds when slapped at this years NAMM show. It might have a lot to do with the strings used but many fretlesses seem to somehow sound "like plastic" when you funk on 'em. How does this one take it?
