Recently acquired this G&L ASAT hollowbody to fill my need for a 4 string. It's a Fantastic bass and it sounds just as good as I had expected but the balance is off compared to my L-2500 so I'm entertaining letting this bass go.
The bass is an ash hollowbody, I'm not certain if the bass is chambered or if it's just the section with the F-hole. The body is a slab type with no belly cut. Neck and body are bound and the neck has a gloss gun oil tint. Fingerboard also has a gloss finish. Headstock has a matching sunburst finish. The neck is straight with little to no fretwear and no deadspots. I've set it up with a tiny bit of relief.
Controls are typical pickup selector, series/parallel and passive/active/treble boost. No scratchy pots here. Control cavity cover still has film on it.
There is a 1 cm horizontal ding behind the 5th fret on the back of the neck which I will try to photograph. There is a tiny bit of marring on the end of the headstock which I will also try to photo. Besides that there are no scratches or appreciable play wear or finish dulling on the rear or the bass. I'll look it over again in full light when I take more photos, hopefully later today. The bass is in overall excellent condition and comes with a G&L HS case.
I'm looking for 4 string basses primarily but would entertain a 5er. 34" scale only and I would like at least 21 frets. I'm primarily after Fender style J or p/j basses or older Spector Euros. Can add cash as necessary. I don't necessarily have my heart set on anything particular so throw trades by me. I'll sell for $1250 outright but would rather trade.
