SOLD: Lakland Skyline JO5 with Noll preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale is one Lakland Skyline Joe Osborne 5-string bass, modified with 3-band Noll Electronic onboard preamp. Lakland warranty letter, Noll manual included, $875 shipped with a hardcase.
Clear finish Ash body, Rosewood fingerboard, 35" scale length, original Lindy Fralin single coil pickups, Dunlop strap lock buttons.
I modified the passive wiring with a German Noll Electonics TCM-3SJB 3-band preamp, the controls are:
1st stacked knob - Volume (push/pull for active/passive) and Balance
2nd stacked knob - Treble/Bass Boost/Cut
3rd stacked knob - Mid Boost/Cut and Tone control in passive mode
The preamp sounds very articulate and clear, not much coloration in active mode, very "European" style. There's also a seperate battery box in the back, since there's no enough space to put a 9V battery in the fully copper shielded cavity.
The only tiny scratch is at the headstock, all the other parts are in excellent condition. I'll send the bass with a hardcase for safety reason, and put a new set of DR Low Rider strings on it.
I prefer PayPal, and the shipped price is for lower 48. No trades, I need money...

Thanks!! Lee

Dang Lee, nice bass. I love natural/rosewood basses. Nice grain on this one. I would be all over this if I hadn't just bought one.

Hey Lee, what's up. It's Matt Lorentzen... I would like to take a look at your bass, because I'm interested in buying.

PM me and we can work it out.

Hold for payment clearence.
The Noll preamp, as I described, is very "European" sounding. It acts like the EQ section of EBS or Glocken amps, accurate and precise, not the warmest thing, but very useful. It's pretty dead quiet itself, the hum usually comes from Lindy single coil PUs.
Good sound, nicely priced and very easy to install. The only problem is the Vol/Bal pot need 38mm depth of the cavity, so I've to deepen the circuit cavity a little, put shielding copper to re-cover the whole cavity.
