SOLD: MINT Spector Euro 5 LX w/Aguilar OBP-3--$1450 Shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm probably gonna regret this one day, but I'm putting my '06 Spector Euro LX 5 up for sale or trade. I'm finding that the modern sound of this thing isn't what I'm really after so much anymore.

I bought this new about 6 months ago, the day my local dealer got it in. It never made it to the showroom floor. Since then, it's been out of the house only a handful of times, and has never seen a gig.

It's in dead mint condition--if there's a scratch on it, I sure can't find it. Burl poplar top over alder body, three piece maple neck-thru body, rosewood fretboard. The stock Tone Pump preamp has been replaced with an Aguilar OBP-3, wired at 18v, with the push/pull mid selector. I also replaced the knobs with gold ones (necessary because of the stacked bass/treble pot) from bestbassgear.com. It's currently strung with a brand new set of DR Lowriders. It's 35" scale, has 17mm string spacing, and weighs in at approximately 9.5 lbs on my bathroom scale. Comes with a Spector gig bag.

Looking for $1450 shipped in the con. US, or best reasonable offer. I will ship it anywhere, but all extra costs are up to the buyer. I will only take Paypal, and will only ship to confirmed addresses. FWIW, this thing cost me $1850, plus $49.99 for the gig bag, and another $175 for the preamp/knobs/installation--That's $2074.99 I have into it. And it's still basically brand new!!

EDIT: I just picked up a Mike Lull 4 string, so I would much rather have an outright sale at this point.

Here's a couple pictures of it (the last picture is the one my dealer got of it from the distributor):

For the most part I'm not even a fan of the neck-through Spectors (I'm stocking up on ReBops outfitted with EMG 40TWs and Aguilar pre's for "Spector Jazz Basses", and will likely purchase a USA Bolt-On when the need for a six-string comes) and I want this bass in the worst way. I think it's the real-life photos: I'd seen the distributor's pic, but comparing that to the beautiful golden tinge in Ryan's shots... especially when he says "I still can't seem to get it to come out as nice in photos as it looks in person, though"... that's just being cruel.

And what if I take some of the kids away then?

I should rephrase: Someone make me a cash offer!!

I have another bass lined up to buy, but I REALLY need to move this one first.

More PM's replied. Getting to be a ton of interest, but no solid takers yet.

I have seen this one in person and the photos dont do it justice. When he says it's "bassically brand new", that's no lie. Absolutely beautiful. I have also heard it before and after the new preamp, and trust me, it absolutely makes a huge difference.

I'm gonna kick myself when this thing sells unless It lasts a week and I get the cash. I've been drooling over a USA bolt on but I think this bass edges it out! The price really can't be beat either.

I'll pay your asking price, I have Paypal, you take care of the shipping and pack it to where UPS or Fedex cant destroy it.
I have no idea how to contact you. New to this forum.

I just sent you a private message with my Paypal information. I've shipped many basses--no worries on the packing.
