SOLD! USA Peavey TL-5 Natural w OHSC (Like Cirrus)!

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!!!!!!!!

This should not last long. I have a natural (refinished) USA Peavey TL-5 (Tim Landers edition) 5 String up for grabs. Comes with the original hardshell case (banged up but functional). These were $1700ish new. This particular one has some cool features:

Solid flammed maple wings (not just laminate top like most basses)
Cirrus pickups (only the last handfuls produced came with Cirrus pickups)
3 Band EQ with Mid Shift & Boost/Cut

Plays AWESOME and the tone is to die for. Very tight B for a 34" scale (tight as most high-end 35's). Frets are in great shape and action is damn low.

Song clips done with THIS BASS by another TBer:
http://www.soundpreacherstudios.com/...s/angelina.mp3 (song snippet)
http://www.soundpreacherstudios.com/.../pomsample.mp3 (song snippet)

Now for the issues (minor):
Bass was blue and refinished by another TBer. Overall, he did a good job, but there are a couple minor spots where you can see a little blue (under the knobs, a thin line where the neck meets the fretboard and a small spot near the bridge). A little more sanding and you are in business (but you really can't see these from 5 feet or more away right now). Also one of the EQ pots must have come unsoldered. I have not opened it up yet, but it was replaced a little while back and I'm sure that it's just a cold solder that needs to be re-soldered.

Other work that was done to this bass recently:
The bass has since had a very thorough cleaning and given much love and attention any high-quality bass deserves.
Any screws with wear or rust were replaced with the exact part from Peavey.
The mid shift pot was also replaced with a direct original part from Peavey.
The truss rod wrench (Peavey style) was also gotten directly from Peavey...

This is an amzing player and tone monster. It's truly a USA boutique custom shop bass for a junk-import price. So here comes the low-giveaway price............(drum roll please)..........$375 (+ ship & PP fees if you choose to pay me w PP). At this price, I have to ask for PP fees (3%) if you pay me that way. Money Order is cool too (they cost $1 @ US Post Office). Pics later, but you may get in line or even reserve it now at this price. this won't be here long!!!

Bump for a Sweet Bass. I have the older version with Super Ferrite single coils. This has the MUCH Upgraded humbuckers. I think that would make this a Post-1991 model. Mines an '89...

These basses are SO Under Valued/Rated/Stated. I also have the 4-string version, the Rudy Sarzo Signature. Both mine are Red.You CAN NOT beat these old Crafted in The USA High-End Peavey Basses. If I didn't already Blow My WAD on QuadZilla's Warmoth, I'd be HUSTLING to add this to my Stable of Peaveys. And the Price he's Asking? It might be worth sleeping on the couch for a day or 2! Keep me out of HOT Water!! Somebody BUY This!

I'll put a Plug in on the Peavey Thread as well. This bass MUST be $old!

I actually prefer the natural - or at least the parts that are natural.

I really like this one and have been thinking about get my first fiver..but I've set aside some money for a portable digital recorder that I really need for rehearsals.

aaaggghh...what to do??? tempting.
