Spalted Top 6 String Jazz Project $199

Sign in to disble this ad
I had intentions on making this a custom but have not had time to even begin. I have Ken Smith Soapbars I was gonna install but did not. Just trying to get what I spent purchasing this bass a few weeks ago. It features a Spalted top, Wilkinson tuners and bridge, maple neck with an ebony fingerboard. Price $175+ shipping.

What kind of spacing could one do w/that neck? I really like the headstock.

18mm string spacing I believe. The only thing needed is a preamp or control plate and pots to wire passive. It will come with the Wilkinson soapbar pickup

hmm....Is the fretboard pretty much ready to go or does it need some treatment still? What size pu route is that? What is the scale? Would the bridge have to be moved back to fit a MM style pu in the bridge? Who made the body and is it me or does the top look like it might be coming off? Thanks.

No, the top isn't coming off, I will try to post better pics when I get home from work. 34" scale, fingerboard is ready to go unless you prefer epoxy coated necks. Yes the bridge would have to be moved back to place a MM style pickup there but there is room for another soapbar. I have the original soapbar that came in the bass so I will have to measure. As far as the manufacturer I am not sure.

I forgot ask about side dots... are they in fretted or fretless position?

Alright. Get my rent paid and I might jump on this. That might take a few days though.

That bridge- being so far *in* from the bottom/rear edge of the body- has me confused(easy to do, I assure you ). What is the scale length?

pup

The soapbar that comes with the bass for free is a Wilkinson which is passive. For $100 I will include a set of Ken Smith pups that are passive as well
