Spector (SSD) 5 String NS-95
Neck-thru, Maple Fully Curved Body (front & back)
Photos below
I recently purchased this to try a 5 string again.
Last one I owned was in the early 90's.
Again, I realized I am just not a 5 string guy.
Quality and feel in mind,
I can best describe this bass as a 5 string version of the NS-2A
Same bridge material as the NS-2A's.
Brass Nut
Nice light colored Rosewood Fretboard
Made aprox 1997, thus the SSD logo on the headstock.
Neck-thru construction
EMG HZ Pickups
18V EMG BT EQ
Black SPECTORŽ hardware without branding.
Modified headstock shape unique to this model
Fully Curved Front & Back.
34" scale
9.8 lbs
Generic HSC included (Not Spector)
This bass sounds and plays great but it has a some cosmetic issues.
There are some usual surface scratches if you look up close.
There are some dings.
One on the back of the long horn.
One on the corner of the fretboard on the 2nd fret. (you dont feel it while playing)
One next to the bridge PU
A small one on the top of the headstock.
There is also a slight finish crack below the bridge.
Honestly these are all things you have to look hard to find.
The back of the neck (which matters most) is clean.
Don't let the few dents and dings discourage you from this bass.
It is really a well made bass that could pass as a higher end instrument.
I am just not a 5 string guy and don't think I will ever be.
