Spector Euro 5 LX-EX Spalted Maple Top

I'm really impressed by the craftsmanship of these basses, but the sound is a little too modern for me. I looked for this bass (spalted top/natural finish) for a long time before I found one (pretty hard combo to run across used). It's in good condition with a small marks near the input jack, EMG logo rubbed off the front pickup, dark spot from hanging on a stand near the nut and some pitting in the gold hardware. These thin oil finishes are hard to keep perfect.

- Alder Core
- Walnut Center
- Spalted Maple Top
- Tone Pump
- EMG's
- Spector HSC - Roadworn

$1200 shipped in the US (eCheck or MO if possible). Open to trades (nothing in particular, just run it by me). Would like a really nice EBMM something (no Big Al's). Would trade up or down. Also, the kids could use a Wii so I could do a partial trade including one of those.

Just cleaned/oiled the fretboard and polished the frets. Great grain on this one. Did find a chip on the top of the fretboard at the 2nd fret. Where a fret marker would be, so it's not in the way. I will put a new set of strings on it tomorrow and set it up. Will arrive to its new owner ready to rock..

Pics..

These are great basses. I'm not big on the EMG's and that's why I got rid of mine. Would love to see some Nordy's in there though.

I'm very interested in this bass, but I cannot stand the tone of EMG's... Hmmm... Dilemma, dilemma

I've been wanting a Spector 5-string ever since I got my 4. . The EMGs sound really good though. Very clear and clean, defined notes. These are the best basses that I've ever played.
I love the finish!

The EMGs are nice, but 90% of the basses I've owned the last 10 years have had Barts and that's just what I'm used to. This bass sounds huge and vicious live. Plays great too.

Agreed. There's NOTHING wrong with EMG pickups. They just aren't for me. I do love the build quality of a Spector though.

EMG vs Barts

It's so interesting sometimes to see how tastes differ, I've got the same trouble with Barts but the other way round))) I had to sell my Pedulla Thunderbass with Barts after I tried EMDed Spector! Still think the Barts should be perfect for somebody just not for me. Great Spector.
