Spector Euro 5 (solid flame maple wings) in Emerald Green I have had several PM's about this bass, so here's the deal: the split shaft of the treble pot snapped when I was trying to get the knob to stay on tighter. ![]() I ordered one from www.bestbassgear.com and another from Aguilar but they're both too big (the hole is 8mm). I am not comfortable drilling the hole out to make this pot fit (although it could be easily done, I don't want to do it). So, for now (until I can find the right size pot), I am asking for $50 less than I was. I will include both pots and the knob amd leave it up to you. It's been a hectic week, and this has been a lower priority. Once I track down the pot and install it (if the bass isn't sold), I'll raise the asking price. I bought a Forte' 5, so this one is redundant (or so the boss says). For sale is a 2001 build (Thanks LimaGuy!) Spector Euro 5 string in emerald green. ![]() It has EMG DC pickups (with the quick connect plugs) and an Aguilar OBP-1 pre, the older, bigger style. ![]() (This is before the shaft snapped) This is from the solid maple body wing era, and it is flame maple with some very nice grain. It is a 35" scale. It weighs about 10lbs according to the old bathroom scale. ![]() ![]() It has 3 through the finish blemishes on the body, one under the rear strap pin which loocks like the finish chipped off, but the wood is not damaged (the strap pin screws in fine and you can't see it with a strap). ![]() ![]() ![]() The second is also on the back, a few inches down, and it is a dent that is thru the finish. No cracks or splintered wood. ![]() The third is bigger than a pin on the front under the pickups, thru the finish but the wood is not damaged. ![]() ![]() The bridge has some finish worn off in spots, but no rust and is still fully functional. ![]() ![]() I did not file the bridge to fit normal end strings, but the 125 D'addario that were on there fit, albeit tightly. Now has Spector nickels with a taper B. The nut and tuners work fine and are in great shape. I installed new gold schaller straplocks, and will include the strap ends as well. The frets do show some wear in the money position, but no buzzing or fretting out. ![]() ![]() Here's the trade post I got it from, used with the poster's permission: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/f...guilar-892227/ His pics are much better than any I'll probably post. I'm asking $1250 shipped in a new Spector OHSC (from my Forte') ![]() or $1150 shipped in a no name gig bag. I'll take PayPal, or if you've got more than 10 positive feedbacks (and no negatives) I can take a cashier's check or a postal money order, but I will wait for them to clear. Lower 48/CONUS only, please. NO TRADES AT THIS TIME. More pics are here: http://s1258.beta.photobucket.com/us...ibrary/Spector Any questions or want more pics, please let me know. If you're local (Chicago area), we can figure out a price sans shipping. |
So this is my first time trying to replace electronics on my own- who knew it could be so complicated? It may take a little longer than I'd anticiapted to get this up to 100% as the pot I ordered from Aguilar isn't the right size either (the hole is 8mm, and both the pots I've ordered are bigger than that- why aren't they a universal size?). I did locate the correct size from Stew Mac though, but I am going to double check before I order, but I won't be able to do that until tomorrow (Thursday, 2/14) evening). I am willing to sell this bass without the pot installed. I also have an extra EMG BTS preamp with a Volume, pan, bass and treble set up i can throw in if you want (also has EMG knobs and 18v wiring). |
