This is a beautiful, almost new bass I acquired in a trade with another TB'er. According to him (and the receipt), this bass was shipped from Spector on 11/18/2009 as a replacement for another that had some manufacturing defects covered under warranty. So basically, it's newer than most instruments at your local music store.
The figuring of the maple top is nice and the color is just gorgeous. The finish isn't dark like most, it's just bright red and sexy! There are some very small marks in the typical spot underneath the strings, everything else on this bass is pretty much flawless though. The action was the lowest physically possible without any buzz...it was actually too low for me and I raised it a bit to accomodate my style better but it still plays effortlessly!
It's loaded with EMG-TW pickups and the preamp has push-pull pots on the volumes to split the coils. The variety of useable tones far outnumbers any other Spector I've had my hands on, but that great Spector sound is still there when you want it. The bass weighs 10.5 lbs and comes with the original Spector hard case too. Anything else, just ask.
