Spector NS 5 CRFM FS/FT

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently obtained this, and it's a WONDERFUL bass. It sounds simply incredible. I have a US Spector on the way though, so this one will become redundant.

It's an NS 5 CRFM (predecessor to the Euro). It has a solid maple body, a nice flamed top (which really doesn't show well in the photos, but trust me, it's nice!) EMG active pickups, and an EMG preamp (cut/boost....I MUCH prefer this preamp to the new Tone Pump). It sports gold hardware, and aftermarket Gold knobs. The color I believe was called "plum" by Spector.

The bass is in REALLY good cosmetic shape, with one exception. Right after I got the bass, the strap pin on the upper horn snapped right off. I simply installed a new strap button right next to the old one, and it works fine, but there is a mar right next to it where the "snapped off "strap pin is. It could be removed, and repaired, but I didn't want to dig into the wood any further to get it out.

I'm asking $850 (firm), plus shipping, or feel free to run interesting trades by me. All trades must be of similar value, or lower value with cash to me. I'd prefer an outright sale though.

PS...my bare feet are not included in the auction.

35 inch scale. Just over ten pounds I believe...by bathroom scale. It's no lightweight, but I used it for a full gig last night and had no problems, and I have a bad back.

I don't really have anything of similar value but I do have a custom jazz with EMG's and a Yamaha 5 string with two Musicman type pickups that I would offer as a 2 to 1 deal. They are excellent basses but not really in the same league as your Spector.
