SOLD FOR SALE: SPECTOR REBOP 5-DLX, Tobacco Burst finish. After having this a week, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a very good-sounding bass with very good fretwork and playability but that a 35” scale Spector doesn’t suit me ergonomically – the reach is a little too far for me.
This bass has two flaws to speak of. One is that a bit of the finish has chipped away on the front of the body at the corners of where the neck joins with it (visible in the closeup photo of the body). The chipped areas are ONLY at the two lower corners of the neck joint down by the neck pickup - the other white-looking areas you see in the photo are just reflected light.
The other thing is that there seems to be an electrical issue – when the neck pickup is dialed into the mix, you get very audible buzzing/crackling if you are touching the neck pickup/anchoring your thumb on it - it only buzzes when you touch the neck pickup. It may be a simple fix, but not being electrically inclined and having little soldering experience, it’s probably best I don’t monkey with it and leave it to a buyer who knows what they’re doing to sort out. If you're thinking of having the pickups swapped for active EMG's (which I was when I bought it), then obviously it will get rewired anyway.
Currently strung with a BRAND-NEW set of Ernie Ball Coated Slinkies. Will ship in a padded gig bag.
