Squier 50s CV bass Lake Placid Blue with upgrades: sale or trade

Sign in to disble this ad
I am selling my Squier 50's Classic Vibe bass. I just find myself playing my shortscale bass since I am switching back and forth from guitar.

This bass is in great shape and has had significant upgrades that really make it stand out: The cheapo import electronics were replaced with US made CTS pots, and a Sprague cap. The pickup and the control cavities have had copper shielding added, and finally a Seymour Duncan Basslines Quarter Pounder pickup has been installed. It has new D'addario strings and has been properly set up.

There are a few very small stray scratches here and there on the pickguard and the body, but you really need to search for them. There are no chips in the finish and no bonks or dents.

Here is a link to some photos of the mods made to the bass:

And here are a few photos of the bass as it is right now:

The original pickup and wiring harness will be included if the buyer wishes.

I am asking $300 obo plus shipping.

I did not include shipping charges as everyone wants their bass shipped a different way. I have no problem shipping via any carrier you want, neck on, or neck off. Your choice. I do not charge bulls&!t "handling" or packaging fees. You will only pay the actual shipping price that it takes to ship to you.

Need references? My ebay handle is slotrod, and I have 820 positive feedbacks with no negative or even neutral. That's 100%.

I have been GASing for a Danelectro Longhorn bass. Will consider trades, esp for copperburst.

C'mon, Get a new bass AND make your Girlfriend/Wife happy by spending no $$. Trade me your copperburst longhorn! You know you hate that awful intonation, the tiny tuners and hollow thumpy sound... Get a real bass already!

Thanks for looking.

BUMP... Nice Bass! I bought a Squier VM Jazz last year from another TB'er and paid $300 for it. He replaced the bridge and pickup and put "Fender" on the headstock. I have been enjoying that bass ever since with no regrets. Buying one of these used Squiers is a great deal if you want to mod it and someone else has already done the work for you. If I were in the market for a 50's Classic Vibe I'd buy this one. What a beauty!

Hi Gang,

I am lowering the price to $275 plus shipping. Neck-off shipping will be less expensive than neck on due to the size of the box needed. If there are no takers, she is going to ebay...

Thanks for looking!
