Squier Bronco - $90 plus shipping

Sign in to disble this ad
Squier Bronco bass. All original except for replaced knobs (I think they look cooler than the ones with chrome flaking off plastic anyway). Could use new strings. Needs a little minor cleaning, and has one weird scuff on the headstock but very good condition otherwise. Will sell for 90 plus actual shipping, or may be open to trades.....

Random thought: I also have an Acoustic B200 head that's sitting around not getting any use. Would be interested in trading both the head and the Bronco for something...or for cash?

Forgot to mention, I have a gig bag that may not be the best fit, but I'll throw it in for that price.

Also, I'll be in the Chicago are this coming weekend (11/20-21) if anyone around there would like to make a local deal for the bass or both the bass and amp to avoid shipping costs.

Good question - it's been a while, so in the interest of answering your question better, I'll play it when I get home and post a response. Thanks.

Here's my honest opinion on the sound question: it sounds like a Squier. Pretty much like a Squier Affinity P, I would say - but crossed with my old Musicmaster. Not bad tone for the price, but hard to tell with old strings on it too. It seems like there's not as much tonal difference as there should be between both ends of the tone control, but I'm not sure if that's affected by the strings too. Very slight scratchiness from the volume pot.

Also, in the interest of full disclosure, the previous owner was a smoker, so up close there's a very slight smoke smell too. I'm sure this could be dealt with.

Bottom line: I would think of this as a fun modding platform, or a super cheap way to try out a short scale bass if you're curious.

Your asking price is reasonable. These are $149.99 on eBay shipped now.

I love Broncos. I wanted to buy one local for a hundred bucks. But the guy says no. His price is $160.

Great price by the way!
