If there is a sleeper 5 string, it's the Squier Affinity Jazz! The body is solid alder, just like the MIM and MIA, with a one piece maple neck and rosewood fretboard. There are no routes under the pickguard and the pickup routes are standard sized, making this a perfect platform for modding. Currently, this one is stock except for the Audere preamp and the re-pro Fender decal. It had Fender Noiseless pickups in it at one point, but the stock Squier pickups are back in. The pickups are very good, the sound just like a Jazz Bass should. The pickguard has been slightly modified, as the stock control plate is not the same as the standard Jazz one, so I had to shave it some for the Audere to fit right. The ear holes for the neck pickup were shaved as well to accommodate the Fender pickups. A standard Fender pickguard should fit without modification. There are two small dings in the finish, both on the back of the bass. One is near the arm contour and the other is on the bottom of the bass. Ships in a gig bag. $250 with the Audere included.
