Squier Precision Bass MIJ 1984 SOLD!

Sign in to disble this ad
I really don't want to sell this but unfortunately money is a little tight. Up for sale is my 1984 MIJ Squier p-bass. She is in great shape. Alder body, maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and she weighs around 8.5lbs on my bathroom scale. She's not totally stock. Fender tortoise shell pickguard and thumbrest, Fender '62 reissue pickup, Dunlop straplocks, and an Allparts threaded saddle bridge. There are a few dings and cracks in the finish but nothing down to the wood. There are also a couple of dings on the headstock. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Currently strung up with Webstrings Detroit Flatwounds .50-.110. The action is very low with no buzzing and is a dream to play. To be honest if she doesn't sell I won't be too upset because I don't want to get rid of her. SOLD!

Bump for a great seller! I own one of these old MIJ squiers in sunburst. Excellent build quality and sound. The highlight for me is the neck profile-1 5/8ths wide at the nut, and relatively thin front to back. I'd take this over a MIM Precision 8 days a week.

It's not a JV. Still a great bass, though.

Someone buy this. They sound great! My JV is wonderful! This is just a later model. These basses are the beginning of Fender Japan.

Is the pickguard original?

The pickguard, bridge, strap pins, potentiometers, and pickup are not original.

Would you take a Radial Bassbone along with some cash?

I really need to move this now so I am dropping the price to $375 OBO. No trades.

I own an '84 SQ, as well, and it is definitely my keeper bass!

Vintage tone for days, and the neck is extremely comfortable.

BUMP.
