I just picked up this bass the other day, honestly for the sole purpose of installing a set of flatwounds on it. And I did! Tried them out, like them, like the bass, but I am fickle and would like to move on to my next bass (to fix up and sell

)
The bass came to me used from CL and it is in great shape, but needed a few things.
I leveled and polished the frets, changed out the stock bridge to a Gotoh (basic, fender style, but heavier mass), put a white PG on (doesn't fit great, but it's a Squier), put on the BRAND NEW SET of Rotosound flats and set it up, cleaned it, played it, liked it!
As I've had the MIM J's before, I'll say this one is built a little better. There's shielding in the cavities, it has a tight joint, the hardware feels superior... and the bound and blocked neck!
It's a great bass for upgrades.
It plays great. There are still some fret blips in the 16-20th fret area, but the rest is butter. There is also some ugly wood knots that don't have any effect but aesthetics.
Aside from the bass as it sits now, it also includes the roundwounds that came with it, the old bridge, the black pickguard. No case or bag, sorry.

Looks like new, plays great, has upgrades.
This is the detail of the PG install. It's not pretty and there's a piece of white paper underneath to make the gap "disappear", but seriously... It's a Squier and from 20 feet away, you can't tell.
