The Roman Empire.

Donald Trump.

My 2011 Philadelphia Phillies.

Barack Obama's Approval Rating.

SubSectorSucker.

What do these things have in common?

At one time, all were mighty entities. Seemingly unstoppable, they tore through the competition. Sadly, all great things must come to an end.

Trump? Bad real estate deals and and an inability to properly deal with a receding hairline.

The 2011 Phillies? An impotent offense.

Barack Obama's approval rating? Political discussions are prohibited on TalkBass.

The Roman Empire? See Wikipedia--I'm too lazy to type.

SubSectorSucker? My idiot wife.

Yes folks, like many of you out there, I have been toppled by my spouse. Sure, she gave me three beautiful children (the last one being born a few weeks back), and can sure put a mean Sarah Lee Pie in an oven, but that's not the issue. No, the issue is money.

See, she decided to go from a 6 figure salary to "I'm not going to work anymore" seemingly overnight. Were we a true power couple, this would be managable. Alas, I am but a lowly police officer. With her as the REAL bread winner, my days of living foot-loose and fancy-free are over. Gone are the days of swimming like Uncle Scrooge through my money bin, followed by eating sushi off of nude Rickenbackers. Replacing that will be a ton of overtime, a plethroa of crappy bar gigs, and Ramen Noodles off of my fully dressed Fender.

My sob story aside, here is the first round. All items are as-described. I can take more pictures if you need them, but I had to act fast because I need to sell fast.

When PMing me, please include WHAT ITEM YOU ARE INTERESTED IN. I will have several items listed over the next few days. Help me keep track! Thanks!

ITEMS WILL BE ADDED OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS! KEEP AN EYE ON THIS THREAD FOR MORE CARCASS-CLEANING DEALS!

First, a 2011 Rickenbacker 4003 in Maple Glo

Its basically brand-new. Only a couple hours of at home noodle-time. Case Candy is still sealed. It's one of the good ones

$1550 plus actual shipping

An as-new Godin Shifter in Transparent Cream

Pics say it all. Barely played. Plastic still on tuning keys. Great, Great bass. Ton of sounds out of this one. P? J? MM? Check.

$600 plus actual shipping

A MarkBass LMIII. Great condition, always used at low volumes. Never, EVER let me down. When finances allow, this will be one of my first purchases. Manufactured in August of 2009. A couple small scuffs on the top (never noticed them till I took the pictures)

$400 Plus Actual Shipping

An Avatar 4x10 NEO

This one is in Electric Blue Tolex and has casters and a cover. Great shape, sounds great!

These are $589 in standard tolex at avatar. With shipping, cover, and casters, this would be close to $700.

Pick up this one in 19116 for $300

WILL NOT SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Idiot Wife Bump!

I went through a Similar ordeal bake in '92. CPA wife decided to go into Nursing as an LPN. (1/2 the slaray of an RN!, which is maybe 1/2 the salary of a CPA!!!) Working Construction during the day and managing a Data Center at night got us through. BARELY!

Hang in there brother.

ahh.....maybe you could speak a little more kindly of your wife (seriously).....sounds like you have been married a while and she "enabled" you some sweet toys along the way....

times are not always "great around my house" but I would NEVER call my wife an idiot in public or on the web.....

I assume her decision was made to spend more time with the children whoch (in my book) makes her anything BUT an idoit....

Just my 2 cents....good luck on the sale.

Rule #10: No Trolling
Trolling threads and posts will not be tolerated. Trolling is defined as making inflammatory posts, lacking in substance pertaining to the thread topic, simply to elicit a negative emotional response from the thread participants. Moderator discretion applies.

Being that, by their very nature, they contribute nothing positive but rather celebrate the negative direction a thread may have taken, "IBTL" posts and their ilk are considered trolling.

Funny. (in a been-happily-married-along-time way)

Best of luck with the sale and the life adjustment. If I didn't want to stay happily married, that ric coulda been "the other woman".

Thanks Matt--you are a gentleman as always!

And don't give me too much credit about having my priorities in order. I just ate an entire bag of combos and chased it with a king size Butterfinger before dinner

Subbing to see what comes up for sale next. Hope I can buy something from you, just because it's nice to see that there are husbands and wives out there doing it right. Good luck!

So sorry to hear about this - can't she just go to part time?

Meanwhile, I am checking to see what I can unload so I can help you out.

Good luck!~

Yeah, she did that--full time, part time, no time.

It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, ya know? Some people are really suffering--I just can't have as many toys!
