STAMBAUGH 5 34" SCALE

With much regret I am putting my beautiful Stambaugh 5 string on the block. Its a 34" neck so its very comfortable to play.

specs are

Figured walnut body w/ matching headstock veneer
Set neck, Primarily wenge w/ bubinga and maple stringers
Maccasar Ebony fingerboard
Bart J pickups with mac ebony covers
Audere 4 band w/Z mode
Black hipshot hardware
Mac Ebony ramp

http://luthiersaccessgroup.com/index...-details&id=67

This bass is so comfy to play and has a great warm organic tone. I will be sad to see it go but times are tuff and this one doesnt see as much playing time as it should.

Lets say $2200 plus shipping
Will accept paypal but would prefer some other form without fees if you can swing it.

That's a beauty for sure. What's the weight, string spacing and nut width?

weight, Im gonna have to guess... Im gonna say somewhere between 9 and 10 lbs. nut is 1 3/4", string spacing is 18 mm.

I should mention that its in immaculate condition and comes with like new hardshell case.

The neck profile is super comfy, and wenge feels really nice.

Not really looking for trades at this time with the possible exception of maybe a Veillette fretless 4 or a Bruce Johnson series II fretless scroll bass AUB-2.

I forgot to mention that it has a matching Maccasar ebony ramp that was never used and black locking end pins. I believe there is also a set of Fodera E-C strings in the case if you want to give that a try.

ALSO FOR SALE

1973 Guild M85 w/ original case
Hipshot "A" chrome 4 string bridge
Tascam DRO-07 MKII recorder

You're gonna miss it.
What a beauty, looks like a yummy Latte.
As a big fan of natural wood finish this is off the scale!

Is this an aggressive in your face mid aggressive tone or more of a warm vintage P bass tone? Both are good, its just which one you're looking for

Not sure I can wax poeticly about the tone suffice to say that with the 4 band EQ, any number of tones are possible. The walnut and wenge construction gives it a clear punchy natural sound. The Audere is pretty versatile and the low Z setting gives it a fairly massive bottom end.
