Stambaugh SCNT 5

FS/FT - mint 2009 Stambaugh SCNT5 string. 35" scale, neck thru (Maple and Zebra) with a bound Macassar Ebony 24 fret fingerboard with matching pickup covers. The body is Ribbon Mahogany, the FULL top is Flamed, Quilted, and Spalted Maple, with a nice amber tint. Matching headstock. String spacing is 19mm at the bridge. Around 9 -9.5 pounds, great balance.

The pickups are Aero Dual coils. The preamp is a custom 4 band by Mike Pope, with mute/passive/active switch, single/dual coil switch, frequency selector switches for the low and high band mids. Black Hipshot hardware, very nice TKL hardshell case in excellent condition (looks like new). The instrument has no issues of any kind. Sounds, plays, and looks great. I have $2,600.00 in it so that is value I am looking for in trade or sale.

what is the String spacing at the bridge??

I'm not sure, probably between 18 - 19 mm. It is very comfortable - NOT narrow. I'll measure when I get home later.

Thats a great looking bass. What kind of tone doe it have?

String spacing is 19mm at the bridge. Between the great sounding Aero pickups being able to be switched between dual and single coil and the killer Mike Pope preamp with all of it's possibilities, there is literally no tone that cannot be had easily. As for the woods used here, well... Mahogany, Maple, and Macassar Ebony are hard to beat and found in many very high end instruments (Fodera, etc.). In a nut shell - it sounds great!

Very, Very Nice!!! How does the Pope pre compare to, say, a Bartolini or Aguilar?

No experience with an Aggie, but the Pope has much more control than any Bart I've used.
