I've decided to put my beloved Status Graphite S-2 Classic bolt-on fretted 6-string on the market again. I simply don't need a 6er any longer. This instrument was made to my specs by Rob Green, owner of Status Graphite, in late 2002 while I lived in England. The bass:
• Woven graphite, bolt-on, 34 3/4 inch scale 24-fret neck with side-marker dots, Phenolic fingerboard, 16” fingerboard radius, neck width 2.13” at top-nut, neck width 3.44” at 24th fret, 18mm string spacing at bridge
• Alder wings, Ash center, Rosewood top, Gold hardware
• Pickup blend control, Master volume control
• 18V, Active EQ: bass +/- 12db at 100Hz, treble +/- 14db at 7KHz, midrange 3-position control switch +/-5db, variable midrange control between 300Hz and 3KHz, Status Hyperactive high resolution pickups
It is clear and punchy; puts out deep lows, focused midrange and sweet highs; has balanced response across the entire neck; fast action; sustains forever; and is very comfortable to play. I always receive compliments on its tone and appearance. It is certainly in near-mint condition.
It comes with a Hiscox liteflite hard case, and I've put brand new Status round core Hot Wire strings on it. I also have the original paperwork and tools.
