FS ONLY: Late 90's Status Stealth 5-string, all carbon fiber construction, red tint carbon fiber, phenolic fingerboard, 34" scale, 18mm spacing, dead flat fingerboard radius (feels INCREDIBLE!) 24 frets + zero fret, Status hyperactive pick ups into an 18-volt 2 band EQ with 3-position mid switch, this one was made before they had truss rods in them, but the neck is straight and solid. 9 lbs. on the bathroom scale. It's in great condition, I'd call it 95% with only a few tiny dings to speak of. (the finish is very reflective so check all the pictures to see that most everything that looks like a flaw is actually a reflection) The only issue worth serious note is the original owner removed the dual strap buttons on the back edge and placed one in the center. Quite frankly, the bass balances better on the "center" strap button so I left it, but I did put a few black felts around the original screws that held the buttons on. Comes with a Hiscox status/Trace Elliot T-bass case that houses and protects the bass just fine. The bass is professionally set up and has a fresh set of D'addario XLs 45-105 with a taper wound 130 B-string on it.
This is hands down one of the best basses I've ever touched in terms of playability and tone. low and buzz free action the whole way up the neck and the flat board just kills, in fact I'm going to have it on my custom bass I'm having built I like it so much. I tried to capture the 3D effect of the carbon fiber weave in the pics, but they really don't do it justice. As good as it may look, it sounds better! I just used it to record with my band and the engineer was blown away by the tone. Zero effects, zero compression, zero
anything needed to make it sound great. (I can send sound clips if wanted) With the tone controls set flat the bass is a bit sterile, but when you dial in a little bass, adjust the mids to the frequency of your liking and roll off a touch of treble the thing fills a mix like nobody's business. Roll the treble in and it cuts like a hot knife through butter.
I'm in love with this bass, and it will one day be one of the one's that got away, but it's time to go the custom route and get what I really want.
