Sting Signature Tele Style Bass
Excellent condition all over. Everyone is right about these necks- they feel really amazing – I think it’s because of the radius on the frets/fingerboard. Has a string-thru bridge with just installed brand new rotosound 66 Swing Bass Strings. Vintage style tuners. Features the infamous “stinglay” inlay at the twelfth fret as well. Made in Japan.
The pots were really scratchy so I removed them but then realized the new ones I ordered don’t fit through the control plate – doh! I’m going to be busy the next few months so I figured I’d post this as is in case someone wants to finish this repair. You just need to solder in two mini 250k pots. I’ll include the old pots and the capacitor as shown in case they are any help to you. I’m going to try to return the pots that were too big so those are not included. Pickup works fine and plenty of wiring left. knobs will be included as well.
Includes a hardshell case as shown.

This is actually a mid 50s pbass style bass, not a tele

that's why I wrote "tele style." the headstock looks like a tele to me, so i think of it that way ;)
thanks for pointing that out though. I just read up and it is a precision although not an exact replica of the old p-basses. the main difference between those is that the Sting bass has a contoured body compared to the slab body. people (me included) seem to prefer the comfort of the added contour. buy it now and let us know what you think! :bassist:

Actually, in 54, Fender added contoured bodies to the Precision bass, which is the exact bass that Stings signature bass is modeled after, his 54 Precision.
The Telecaster bass came out in the late 60s and was based on the 50s slab bodied precisions of the early 50s.

Bump- make me an offer! I've had some interest but no paypal payments yet.
Update there are a few tiny dings in the tip of the headstock on the backside. Small and typical- I'll post a pic tonight or tomorrow.

Well, I've had interest but I feel the disconnected tone pots is affecting interest. I thought people would want to upgrade it anyway so wouldnt care too much about it. I'm going to order the new pots this week and install them so I can offer it 100% fully functional.
