StingRay 1988 (franken)

Sign in to disble this ad
1988 Music Man StingRay body, all original, authentically worn finish, 2-band EQ, old-school bridge.

Recent Warmoth P-bass neck, finished in "clear gloss water-based Minwax Polycrylic" by previous owner, with Hipshot Ultralight tuners.

Near mint Music Man hardshell case.

Strings are DR Sunbeams, 45-100, fairly new.

Weight is approx. 9.5 pounds. Action is very low, plays incredibly smoothly, sounds thunderous, but I’ve discovered that the aggressive punch of the Music Man is not my style.

Pics:

$900, shipped conUS, Paypal only please. No trades (probably). Thanks!

That fender shape headstock actually looks good and fitting to me. Great color.

haha thanks for the PM, Wayne. I know the neck since it was mine, it is a Warmoth, I bought it new not too long ago, I don't think it's 2 years old. Super straight, strong and stable.
Standard P neck width, the profile is not the new slim taper but it is not thick IMO. It feels more like a new Fender MIA Std neck. I think it is the only Stingray that I know that has a Fender style neck!! It is very cool.

FYI bump.......I have a band new correct waterslide headstock decal in black/gold for your bass if you ever need it. I ordered it for a refinish that I decided not to do, and never used it!!

On the bridge, as is the serial number: B027xxx.

Also, the nut width is a hair less than 1.75".

i would make a "Fender Stingray" decal for this one, it would be totally legit!!

i wonder why Fender corp doesn't buy MusicMan and G&L anyway ???
