Stingray SR5 HH "GC 40th Anniversary" - Ebony Board!

FURTHER, FURTHER PRICE DROP!!!!$1525 Shipped CONUS!

On offer is a Musicman Stingray 5HH with a beautiful ebony board and mother of pearl inlays. This was one of a limited run for Guitar Center's 40th Anniversary, and it is a stunning axe. For pictures:

MobileMe Gallery

Typical SR5HH switching among 5 coil combinations for the two humbuckers, plus three-band eq. "Black cherryburst," ash body, maple neck with great "cathedral spires" in the grain, etc. etc. Includes the hardshell case. Condition is close to mint - all I can find is a small ding on the back of the body. Dig the black graduated nut, blending into the ebony. I'm the original owner, although it was once on a GC wall. Includes hardshell case and all case candy from purchase new.

This axe looks great, and sounds even better. I don't know if it's the ebony board, good karma or some combination thereof, but the voice of this bass is deep and authoritative, and the B-string is among the very best I've ever played on any bass, of any scale length, anywhere, and is completely continuous with the E-string. This baby THUMPS! And pitch is very, very centered. On several jazz gigs, the horn player volunteered that he was appreciating the clarity of the bass pitch.

I hate to sell it, but I'm way more comfortable on 19mm spacing. I was among the agitators this summer that unsuccessfully lobbied EBMM for 19mm SR5 spacing, and it was my affection for this exact bass that inspired that action. But I have to move on.

Asking $1700 NO, $1600 NO, NOW $1525, shipped CONUS. Willing to ship abroad if your country can accept a 52x20x8" box via USPS, you can live with USPS underinsurance and pay for all shipping costs beyond the first $60, and you bear all risks of loss or damage.

Trade bait? Looking for a Pedulla MVP5 with 19mm spacing, with cash to equalize. Please don't be offended if I don't respond to trade offers for anything else! I'm really looking for cash on this one...

C'mon, everybody needs some black cherryburst delight at the holiday season!
