I am needing to thin the herd in order to pay for my college books so up for grabs in my Sterling by Musicman Ray35.
It use to have a natural finish on it but the previous owner stripped the finish off of both the neck and body and refinished it in ReRanch's surf green along with several coats of clear nitro lacquer. The neck has also been tinted and refinished with a gloss nitro lacquer. The headstock decal is still barely visible and can't be seen unless under certain angles of light. I bought this bass because I loved the color and tinted neck that kinda reminded me of the EBMM classic basses. To give a full disclosure the bass does need a little additional work. The guy who tried to refinish it never got around to buffing it and giving it a final sanding and I don't have the time to pick up another project and it didn't really bug me. There is also a little bit of nitro left on the sides of a few frets that I never got around to removing and a little bit of nitro that chipped off in the corner of the 12th fret but it doesn't affect the playability and isn't noticeable unless your right up on the bass but it can be easily touched up.
Original pickup was replaced with a Seymour Duncan alnico replacement (SMB-5a). The pickguard around one side of the pickup wasn't machined the best since the original pickup had the ears on it but isn't noticeable unless your right up on the bass. I tried to capture it the best I could in the pictures. Bass also has a new set of unknown brand strings.
It's a great bass and I love it but college engineering books aren't cheap. Bass has a really nice stingray sound and a pretty sweet classic color. Sorry no case but will be well packaged.
As far as trades, I'm not really interested but run them by me just in case. But if I had to have anything trade bait would be:
*Orange TB500 (+ a lil cash on my end)
*4 string EBMM ray w/ maple neck (+ cash on my end)
Asking price is $450 + shipping.
