Sweet Dingwall AB1

Hey guys, I'm regrettably selling my incredible afterburner one. Full disclosure, my name is Ryan Marshall and I'm the sander at Dingwall. The absolute only reason I'm selling this bass is to buy a SuperP. It's got the first wenge AB neck, and its stunning. I also added series/parallel switches for each pickup, like on the Z series. It has a maple burl top with a light, tight trans black finish. Comes with Dingwall gigbag, tools, and a new set of strings. Asking $2500.00 plus shipping. Click image for larger version

Dang. that's not a bass- that's artwork suitable for framing.

When I grow up, I want a Dingwall.

My name is Jeff and I'm the tech at Dingwall. I have seen close to 1000 basses pass through my hands in my time at Dingwall and this is by far my favorite ABI. The pictures just don't come close to doing it justice. It is absolutely gorgeous in person and is in like new condition. This bass is a serious tone machine as well. The new owner is in for a real treat!

What kind of wood is the back of the neck? Do you have it's weight? Thanks even for the privilege of seeing it. Some of the Prima Artist models are over the top style-wise IMO, but this is just perfect.

"Oh, I've got a big problem, Jerry!" (Seinfeld fans rejoice)

Yeah, parting with some of my other Dingwalls was difficult but it was usually a situation where I was upgrading so the end result made it worth while.

The amazing aesthetic and unique appointments of this ABI pushed all my buttons and got me all afroth. I found the wenge neck to be particularly exciting, (which answers the "What kind of wood..." question).

If that sale falls thru, I'm looking for a 5 string Dingwall.

Yeah, I realized later he was talking about the whole neck, nut just the board, thanks. Kind of a "Duh" moment for me.

Speaking of wenge necks, can someone comment on how a (satin finish) wenge neck feels to the touch compared to maple? The picture of the top of the body won't seem to leave my head, sort of like when you can't sleep because the hook from a song is stuck in your brain.
