Selling because I am homeless again plus other issues - see below.
1. SX LPB P-Bass, Old Headstock, lined fretless rosewood. In excellent shape except for buckling of the pickguard between
pickup and bridge. It came from the factory that way. This bass has been stored most of the time since I bought it new in
2009. I have only played it a couple of months. These are Rondo's stock pictures for this model.
2. Series 10 PJ 24 Fret. Basically a passive copy of a Tune Bass Maniac. I bought this bass new around 1990 owned it till
2007 and bought it back from Daddy's in 2009. This is my favorite bass. It has wonderful balance and upper fret access.
Stock pickups were epoxy potted some years ago. One knob is mismatched but all electronics worked when tested two years ago.
I have not played it since I bought it back. It has been in storage the whole time. Some wear on a couple of frets but not
terrible. Some fret sprout needs to be cleaned up since the move to AZ. Back of bridge is slightly bent but it has been
that way since about 1993.
Picture before I sold it:
Picture from Daddy's. They replaced the broken pot before they sent it to me.
When I unpacked it, it went almost immediately into storage as I lost my housing again
3. SX P90 Strat. Maple board. sets up nice. One high spot around the 15th fret that only affects the high E string.
I never go around to stoning it down but it should be easy as all other notes play fine. In the process of moving,
I misplaced the rear cavity cover. I usually leave them off to make string changes and trem tweaks easier. It may turn
up but *shrug* Pictures from Rondo Music. In real life the body color is more yellowish.
The other reason I am selling is I am someone who becomes seriously ill when exposed to even the tiniest amount of the
sort of mold that grow in buildings and also get very ill from certain everyday chemicals. I know that I am not typical
of people on TB. For example one whiff of WD-40 can leave me ill for days.
It turns out that the last place I rented had some sort of leak or something
and became moldy even though the place did not smell. I got sick enough that I
had to move out on short notice and am in a temporary location. Note that these instruments do not smell or anything like
I read about on some threads here. They just are not safe for me.
The SX instruments look to be brand newish. The Series 10 has the smell of "lemon oil"
I used the P-Bass and the P90 Strat in that former home. Upon leaving, both instruments were cleaned outdoors with a shop
vac and tooth brush and then wiped down with vinegar and bagged. They were not disassembled as I had no time or energy to
spare. If I had a home, I might take them apart and also change the strings but bottom line is that I am homeless again and
in temporary housing.
The Series 10 was never used in that house, Sadly, I am allergic to it because the fingerboard was oiled. It was
wrapped/bagged the whole time it was in that last house. I re-wrapped it with new material outdoors.
Anyway, I need money to get a new start and deal with medical costs more than I need several basses I would have to
store away again.
Peace,
S
