SX SJB-62 4+1 QMD - 5 string J

Up for sale is a bass which has been a staple in my stable for awhile.

The neck is an SX replacement neck (no logo), and the knobs were not stock. I also installed gold Dunlop strap locks, and will include the strap.

I'd say the strength of this bass is the pickups, which when I had roundwound strings on produced a nice "piano tone" J sound. With the Labella tapewounds, the bass has a richer, more mellow sound.

It's in fairly good shape, but has some minor scuffing here and there, as well as some mild tarnishing of some of the gold hardware. As you can see from the pictures, one of the gold tuners has been replaced with a silver one.

On the first fret of the B string, there is some scuffing on the string itself. IIRC, it was caused by stupid me forcing the string through the bridge hole which was a little too snug. But I think I have an extra one of these laying around, which I will include.

As far as pricing, I am going to admittedly price it higher than original cost, because these are not available any more from Rondo, and because of the $55 Labella tapewound strings. We'll see what interest I get at this price, and if none, well, then it will come down. Let's start at $195 plus shipping.

I'm not really interested in trades at this time, unless you have NY Giants tickets!

Every SX bass looks way better in person than in the picture(s).

Its perfect for smaller hands. That's why I got one(that and I wanted a fretless and/or jazz bass, needless to say I got both). They may cost a lot less than the right price for a good bass(good bass=$200, SX bass= >$165), but SX bass will make a person who is used to playing basses that cost thousands more turn over a new leaf. The #1 reason that this is an excellent buy is the fact that SX doesn't make Strat type headstocks any more. They went to some sort of fish hook design. Very very odd choice since Strat headstocks are better looking to more people.
