Up for sale is my American made Tacoma Thunderchief bass. I bought it a few months ago from the original owner. Absolutely love this bass, but need money for a replacement speaker and next month's rent... so she has to go.
This is possibly one of the best acoustic bass designs if you're looking to play unplugged with other musicians. As you may already know from experience, most other acoustic basses have a weak and quiet sound unplugged. The Thunderchief has impressive volume, tone, and projection without any amplification. The offset paisley soundhole doesn't weaken the top of the bass like a traditional centered soundhole would, so less bracing is required, and as a result the top is able resonate better. Really a killer design. It's also fitted with an on-board LR Baggs bass preamp, with high, mid, low, and volume controls, along with a phase button.
In terms of cosmetic condition, mine has the expected wear from regular use; some dings and dents here and there but nothing serious. The only thing that might need to be addressed is that the electronics can be a bit touchy. The local shop said they could probably use some air-in-a-can dusting and the saddle could use a bit of leveling/adjustment so as to improve the contact with the bridge piezo pickup. But since I've only had the bass for a few months and I only ever used it for unplugged playing, this hasn't been on the top of my priorities.
Comes with original, fitted hardshell case.
All things considered, I'd like to get
$600 + Shipping for this one.
Might be open to super enticing trade offers but I really do need the money so that takes heavy preference.
