ON HOLD FOR CLEARED PAYMENT THANK YOULight and sweet and one of a kind.
The previous owner Ghia Dub built it around the neck which came from a 1991 custom bass by Texas builder Bill Geibitz. And what a neck! (see pix). Profile like a early 60's Jazz, crazy figured maple and abalone dot markers. The finish on the back of the neck is similar to a Music Man, a smooth matte oil with gloss on both sides of the headstock. Excellent fretwork showing very minimal wear and it is playing great, ready to go. The only cosmetic issue are some holes in the back of the headstock from the original tuners and some very light play wear finger marks from me on the pickguard.
The body is light ash from Warmoth as is the subtle Antigua finish, beautifully done.
Hammond Darkstar pickup
Bayou wiring harness
orange drop cap
Gotoh 201 bridge
Hipshot ultralight tuners
Strung up with LaBella Flats
Weighs in at 8.4lbs and is well balanced.
From the original owner- "The bass absolutely kills, really nails the '72 Phil Lesh sound that these pickups are made for".
I agree totally, deep lows that are thick but still tight with the flats and harmonically 'further' with rounds
I remain addicted to my 50th Anniversary P bass and so goes the TeleStar. Baby, if we had met at a different time... $950 plus actual shipping in a well used ATA Fender HS case to the lower 48 states
