Tobias # 1060 basic 5

This bass is sold
Thanks talkbass!!

I'm selling my tobias #1060
Here is the email that I got from mike t concerning the construction of this guitar

1- what types of wood were used

it should be a birds eye maple neck with purple heart stringers wenge and walnut body

2- pickups and any electronics type

made for us by Bartolini. older version TCT preamp no longer available.

3- mine has Yamaha tuning pegs, are these correct?

no we used Gogoh's or Schallers that had our logo on them

4- what year was it made( I think I have narrowed it to 89-90 ?)

mid-late 89. it is a pre Gibson bass.
So as you can see the tuning pegs have been changed somewhere in its past life otherwise it is in beautiful shape, it plays and sounds great
Has a Tobias case that has minimum damage
Asking $2200 plus shipping, ill crate up the case

I can take more pics if needed
You can pm me here
Or
Email (preferred) dbmp67@yahoo.com
Thanks for lookin
Dan

I believe that this is a classic and not a basic. Right?

Nice bass!

The knobs don't look original either......but it does appear to be a Classic.

Quick update
The new owner sent me some pics and an update
"
And in case you're interested, I did pull the bridge when restringing it and the five holes for the original Tobias bridge confirmed my suspicion that the Schaller was a replacement. The black toggle switch, black pickup and truss rod cover screws are all a likely indication that the bass originally came with black hardware. I've managed to scrounge some spare Tobias parts over the years so I've attached pics of it "restored".
Knobs and bridge
And pegs
Hmmm sellers remorse???
Nope... I'm happy for him and this bass
Thanks again to everyone that showed an interest

That's nearly identical to my Classic, but my wenge grain is a bit more aggressive. And the back of mine is fairly worn, from many gigs!
