Tobias Basic 6 1994(GIbson)-FT

I thought I'd give the 6 a try but realize the G string is as high as I want to go! So I'm seeing what trade options may come my way. I'm after a 4 or 5 string and am only GASing for one thing, an Alleva-Coppolo skinny neck 5, which I don't imagine I'll see.
In that light, I'm open to ideas but please no silly ones i.e. a MIM PBass (which can be good) or the likes. Something interesting!
Here's the info:
1994 Gibson Tobias Basic 6 #2221
Neck-Purpleheart and Curly Maple
Body-Lacewood
Fretboard-Pau Ferro
Bartolini PU's
Bartolini 3 band EQ w/Slap switch
Using the bathroom scale method-10Lbs
It also has Purpleheart Pre and Truss covers as well as the original black ones.
Original well used HSC that's all nicked up but all the latches and hinges work great.
This baby is in very good condition and stunning to look at.
The flame on the neck and grain of the body are gorgeous.
A few very minor nicks, the worst of which I show. They are tough to see in person.
The bridge has a fair share of mung on it but no issues.
It plays great and sings pretty up high, whatever notes those are!
PIX courtesy of previous owner which are better than any I can take:

That's a pretty narrow wish list. Regardless, nice bass and good luck.

It's 16mm. It seems like more but it's 5/8" at the bridge.

Wow tooooo tight for me? If it is less than 18mm then it's to tight, 16mm and I would have to use a pick. Good Luck with your sale, it's a beauty

I'm gonna throw this out there, but only because you said "something interesting", but any interest in a rare Andreas Shark bass w/ stock Alembic guts? You can have your choice of a 4 or 5 string! Check link in my signature.

Thanks

Dan

Hey Dan, interesting indeed! Those are most unusual and I appreciate the offer but I guess I'm a bit old school. I had an old Kramer aluminum neck bass ages ago and while I liked the way the harmonics jumped out of it, I couldn't get used to the feel of it. That gtr sure looked cool too.

Just hypothetically, if you were to sell instead of trade, what $$ would you be looking for?

Also, how would you describe the low B? It's a rare low B that's quite as clear and focussed as the higher strings, huh?

Thanks.

pbasswil, I'm hoping to turn this into something I would like to try but wouldn't spend the $ on. I have a few interesting offers and am close to figuring it out. As far as the B, it seems solid to me. I think the amp has a lot to do with clarity between the top and bottom. I really dig the EA and Glock stuff in that regard.
