Traben Tribal Sun SLE - Mint, Unplayed, and Gorgeous!

Sign in to disble this ad
Selling my fabulous-condition fretted four-string Traben Tribal Sun SLE bass.

">

Only 100 of these were made -- in 2004, I believe -- to introduce the new model, and this limited edition was distinguished by the flamboyant black tribal-flame motif on its blond maple fingerboard. These instruments were distributed though Traben’s dealer network as prizes in various contests and sweepstakes, although I suppose some dealers could have sold their copies. I won this one online from Musician’s Friend…sorry, but it didn’t come to me with a case.

New and minty fresh in every way! Never played, never plugged in, and probably never even tuned up. (I play acoustic guitar, 5-string banjo, Dobro, etc, and I don’t even own an amp.)

…and another on Bass Gear Review Archive, or brga.net, where you’ll have to search for “Traben” because site management there requests no direct linking.

More background on Traben here: http://www.trabenbass.com and here: Traben Bass Company - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And it turns out we've got our own forum for Traben owners and fans right here: Traben Club, Level 2.

[Edited here by replacing the next sentence to take out the bad auction-type language.] Asking $450 but will be glad to entertain reasonable best offers. Shipping and insurance extra: Will ship only to a “physical address” in the USA, and only via UPS insured, signature required. The shipping weight approached 30 pounds, as I recall, so expect to pay another $50-75 for the UPS bill, depending on your UPS zone. (I’m in upstate NY.)

Method of payment is via PayPal for purchase of goods only...no "personal payments" or "gifts" accepted, per this forum's policies. My understanding is that you don't have to actually have an account there to use PayPal for a credit card purchase, if that's your preference. (That's certainly the only way I could accept a credit card!)

Check it out!

The bass for sale looks exactly like the one in the stock photo above, except the fingerboard in real life is a much more attractive honey-blonde ale color, and not that ghoulish bone-white you see above. My own photos (sample below) are in an album here: traben tribal sun pictures by trabentribalsun - Photobucket

Please PM me right away if you have any problems getting access to that Photobucket album. I’m sure I'll be able to figure out how to send you one using Snapfish, Shutterfly, Flickr, or Picasa instead.

Thanks!
Hope to hear from you soon!

Tom

P.S. Oops! Almost forgot to mention that you can check me out, too. I'm a long-standing eBay buyer and seller, with a current Feedback Rating of 100% over 1,314 unduplicated transactions...172 as a seller. All of that is summarized here: eBay Feedback Profile for collegianakid

Hi Tom,

Nice bass.

Not to be a jerk but, per forum rules, a sale price needs to be posted.

If you'd like people to bid on your bass, you can always use the auction site of your preference.

Good luck,

MD71

Thanks for the heads-up on that, Doc. Can you tell me, please, where I can find the rules for classifieds? I've been scratching around the site for ten minutes and coming up empty.

Best !
Tom

New full-length photo, added 6/29 at 8:10 am EDT

Another pretty good photo, although it doesn't
do justice the the flaming "burnt orange" body color...will cover that later this week.

Thanks for looking!
Tom

I dont know how you could ever sell that badboy! I have the exact same one (in red) and it's by far one of the nicest basses I've ever played! Keep her for a bit longer, and she'll be worth a lot more then a pretty penny!
