Okie-dokie. I have a feeling that I might regret this if something pans out. I really dig this bass. The thing is, I have this idea for a wacky pickup addition and I don't want to hack her up... somebody stop me... please.

Anyway, it's a 80's Aria.. Refinished. I refinished a poorly executed refinish. When I got it, it was kind of a smeary, poo-brown stain. I stripped it, sanded it down, redid the headstock to match and did it up with Tru-Oil. I did not sand out every speck of character... didn't want to. And this thing has lots of character. This is a big improvement, I just wasn't going for perfection.

It had no pickup or tuners. So I dropped in an old Carvin humbucker by making an aluminum pickup surround that covers the massive pickup cavity. added in a coil tap so you can go all single-coil-mellow. I had a set of Schaller Ultralites with dinged up nuts, so I enlarged the holes and put them on.

It plays great, has some fret wear but nothing major. I also made that snazzy red control cover... so custom.

Note: the nut is a firm 1.75" and it has narrow string spacing. That's why I'm selling, the string spacing... I'm sure I'd get used to it eventually, but like I said, if it doesn't go I'm adding a pickup.

What do I want? No idea. I like Gibsonish things more than Fendery things but I do like a nice P. I like fat necks. I like unusual things. I like odd pickup configurations. I like big butts and I cannot lie.

Oh yeah, that's a waterslide logo I made, under the finish.
