Hello Folks -
I'm offering a '98-'99 (Serial number starting with MN936) MIM 5-sting J Bass with decent gigbag for a fretless of equal value.
Maple neck, nice rosewood fretboard, nearly flawless body. Gotoh tuners and Schaller-style strap locks installed. The frets are in good condition. The top of the headstock his some minor chips in the clear finish that need to be looked for to be seen. The pickguard has some light scratches but nothing significant. The bass has been sitting in the gigbag in the closet for too long without being played and it needs a home with someone who will love it. The biggest reason why I don't play it is that it's too heavy for my miserable back.
The neck is straight and fast, new-ish strings (only about 15 hours of play on them – Ernie Ball Slinky’s 45-130), and the fretboard is clean. Comes from a non-smoking home and was not gigged in a smoky environment. It will be shipped with strings loosened and in guitar box with plenty of cushioning.
If you're interested, let me know what you'd like to trade in return. I have a set of 70's RI 4-string J p'ups to throw in also.
