I have a 2003 Fender Jazz. It is red with a rosewood fretboard. The finish has some chips, but it does not look too bad, and of course does not affect playability in the least.
I am not the original owner. It has been kept in my smoke-free home, but the previous owner must have smoked or played regularly in smoky bars, because if you have a keen nose, you will detect a very faint smoke smell. It's not bad at all though, you really have to stick your nose up to the bass to detect it anymore. Just mentioning it in the interest of full disclosure.
I had Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pick-ups installed by a pro, and while he was at it, he shielded the electronics. Great tone, no hum. The truss rod works fine, and I have a SKB hard shell case that goes with it. I still have the original pups, and they would be included in the trade or sale. I estimate the value of the bass is around $800 now.
I am looking for a similar-valued MIA Precision with a maple board. If you have something and are interested in a trade, let me know and we can exchange pics. If you are interested in buying, let me know as well.
Thanks for looking.
