Trade Feeler: '85 MIJ Squier Precision

Sign in to disble this ad
Putting out a feeler for (specific) potential trade: I have an MIJ Squier P that's got an "A" serial number, which I believe dates it to '85. Everything you've heard about these Japan Squiers is true of this bass. It's a great player, and in my opinion better than most '70s/'80s Fenders I've played. It's all original to the best of my knowledge.

I'm considering trading, but only for a vintage (or vintage-style) semi-hollowbody bass. Things I have in mind: Epiphone Rivoli reissue, Harmony H22, maybe Eastwood Classic 4, that sort of thing. Would like it to be a fairly even trade, but I could add a little cash for the right deal.

Not to derail entirely, but what kind of flats are on that?

All PMs returned. Just looking for the right trade for now, but may consider a cash deal later if nothing works out.

I don't know what the strings are in the photo. It's currently wearing LaBella flats, which are not what you see there.

Bump for a great bass, I just picked up an 83 Squier from Quadzilla, and it is far better than the 77 or Mid 90's MIA P's i've owned. Drop me a line if you consider a sale..

Thanks - it's a great bass, no doubt. I'm a huge believer in the MIJ Squiers from this era. Which is why I have no trouble keeping this if I can't find the right trade. Lots of potential offers to buy, but so far I'm holding out.

bump.....it's been a while, so I thought I'd throw this back to the top once more before trying to decide if I'll sell it. Still really like to work out a trade if possible first: in order of priority, I want an Epi Rivoli reissue, Harmony H22, Kay Howlin Wolf, other MIJ semihollow (like Epi 5120, etc.), or will consider other semihollow basses.

Thanks again for looking -

Yeah, I know....it's a good point. I've just been looking around and having trouble even finding much that's like what I want. There are some great vintage Gibsons out there that would be perfect, but out of my budget.
