On hold. FS/FT: Custom Parts 5-String Duncan/MM Pups $645 shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a great custom 5'ver I've put together with some help from a luthier.(well actually a lot of help.lol.) $645 Shipped.
It's kind of my version of a musicman/jazz bass. The pickups are run passive, volume-volume-tone for a wide array of sounds. From a nice Jaco jazz bark to a thick-pick heavy rock. Not too bad for the dub either with the neck soloed and the treble rolled off.
Also I'm not sure of the exact string spacing but it's definitely not fender style. It doesn't bother me but I know people are justifiably picky about that so there you go.

The body is Alder. It's a good weight for that 4 set gig. It's about 8 pounds according to my antiquated bathroom scale.

The top is a really nice figured maple with a dark stain.(it came out way better than I had anticipated when I was picking out the wood)

The pickups are Duncan SMB-5a.
4/5 string for Music ManŽ (ceramic) SMB-4d & -5d - Seymour Duncan 4-String

The neck is a Carvin bolt on that I ordered from the web site.
Carvin.com - Guitars, Amplifiers & Pro Audio: Bolt On Bass Necks

The bridge is hipshot A-style.(also ordered from Carvin)
Carvin.com :: HA5B

The tuning keys are C4B Carvin premium bass tuners.
Carvin.com :: C4B

It also comes with SLB Dunlop straplocks.
Carvin.com :: SLB

No case but I'm an excellent double boxer.

48 states only please.
(Sorry my international bass friends)

Tempting.

Is the fretboard wood ebony?

After the stain, what was the wood finished with?

As far as basses go, I'd love a japanese lawsuit bass.(ricky,gibby,steiny) What do you have? In all actuality I could use a good cabinet..Just relocated to SoCal and didn't have room for mine.
