Trade Feeler - Dingwall Afterburner 6'er!

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!!!! Absolutely stunning whale pool blue, awesome flamed maple, maple neck w/ wenge 'board, Novax fanned frets, locking input jack, super low action! Sounds, plays & looks incredible! Passive Pickups w/4-Position Rotary Switch For Series/Parallel Operation & Passive EQ w/bluEQube Passive Mid Control, push/pull.

This bass has been well taken care of, some slight cosmetic wear on the bridge pickup cover and a few minor surface scratches by the jack, but overall the bass is really very, very clean. One interesting item is it’s missing the 19th fret side marker. One of the previous owner's spoke to Sheldon Dingwall about it and Sheldon said it just slipped through his and his crew’s hands. He offered to remedy it but the previous owner decided to leave as is, making it somewhat unique.

Just strung w/ Thomastik Infeld Superalloys. Comes w/ hsc. Looking to trade for a nice 4 string i.e. Zon, Modulus, Elrick, Sukop, Roscoe, Kubicki, B-Quad-4 ...maybe a nice Ricky or Jazz(w/ matching headstock) plus cash when applicable. May consider multiple basses as well. Not interested in 5's or amps, just 4's.

Pics available upon request.

SOLD!!!!

I have this exact bass (w/ natural finish + a 19th fret marker ).

These axes are pretty unique and absolutely awesome, IMO.

That transparent blue sure looks pretty.

EDIT: Whoa... just noticed. Mine doesn't have bookmatched flame maple all the way thorough! That is way cool!!

This one's a well documented bass, and yes I can witness the fact of the missing dot marker. It came up on the original Dingwall Yahoo group before his message board existed.

For any interested, this bass differs from some of the newer AB-1 basses. It's got the BluEQube as a push pull (later models have it as an individual switch). It also has a 'soft maple' body as specced in the original model as opposed to the later alder bodied models. It may have a one piece neck versus the later 5 pc. Also, the neck finish is an oil/wax finish so if you like the feel of wood, this will have it.

Yep it's pretty fantastic... 1 piece neck, all flame maple body, side dot anamoly. I'd love to get her back. But the lure of a new ABZ for $1700 is too hard to resist. Maybe my lottery ticket will payoff and I can afford both .

No, I won't trade my Ric or Jazz for it, but it is beautiful. I'm sure it won't stay around long.

Mark

Prefer the thinner neck profiles...have had several, a couple newer ('06s), a couple of '02s that were both too chunky, an '85 Ruby and an '81 S. Other than the '02s, I loved them. I quickly learned that not only Ricks feel different from one to another, but sound different. Very few had the Geddy/Squire tone I was looking for.

Nice basses, a bit too "metal" for me though
